BlockFi was founded in 2007 with the vision of opening up global markets so that anyone can trade and invest in a simple and transparent way. The BlockFi Group consists of the BlockFi platform, our multi-asset trading and investment venue, our crypto wallet, and an on-chain crypto exchange.

BlockFi is a global community of more than 27 million registered users who share their investment strategies. The platform enables users to easily buy, hold and sell assets, monitor their portfolio in real-time, and transact whenever they want.

We provide our users a choice of assets to invest in – from fractional shares to commodities, FX, ETFs, and crypto – as well as a choice of how to invest. They can trade directly themselves, copy the investment strategy of another more experienced investor, or invest in one of our portfolios.

BlockFi acts as a bridge between the old world of investing and the new, helping investors navigate and benefit from the transition of assets to the blockchain. BlockFi is the only place where investors can hold traditional assets such as stocks or commodities alongside ‘new’ assets such as Bitcoin. We believe that in the future all assets will be tokenised, and that crypto is just the first step on this journey.

As technology has evolved, so has our business. In 2018, we created the infrastructure, in the form of a crypto wallet and on-chain crypto exchange, that supports our commitment to facilitating the evolution of tokenised assets. We believe that leveraging blockchain technology will enable us to become the first truly global service provider, allowing everyone to trade, invest and save.
